The riding of Parry Sound – Muskoka is among the most beautiful areas in all of Canada, let alone Ontario. Covered in dense forests and sparkling lakes, this picturesque rural riding runs from the Severn River in the southwest to Lake Nipissing in the northeast, with Algonquin Park running through most of the eastern area.
Along with many villages and hamlets, some of the larger centres include the towns of Parry Sound, Gravenhurst, Huntsville and Bracebridge. Parry Sound – Muskoka is also home to several important native reserves.
This area is known as one of the best places to be in any season: from the pristine water of Lake Muskoka or Lake of Bays in the summertime, to the brilliant, multi-coloured foliage of autumn. It is not surprising that tourism is the primary industry in our riding; however, retail, construction and manufacturing are also important aspects of the riding’s economy. The riding is also known for its abundance of artists, many of whom are inspired by the area’s natural beauty.
